News Kick-off meeting Lifelong VISION

We are thrilled to announce that we kicked-off the Long Life VISION Consortium on November 26, 2024, where key leaders and experts gathered to drive innovation and collaboration in vision science! 

Program overview 

After a warm welcome by Jeroen Klevering and Caroline Klaver, the three pillars and two platforms were presented, as well as the Career Development Core, the Knowledge Transfer Core, and the Project Support Office. A special thanks to Marius Ueffing from Tübingen University for his inspiring talk ‘How to Make a Consortium Successful’. 

We also had exciting Topics of the Pro Action Café tables sessions on key issues: 

  • Round 1 – AI: Challenges and Goals; Organoids vs Animal Models; Challenges of Translation from Lab to Patient.
  • Round 2 – Career Development; Collaborations Between Pillars and Platforms; Knowledge Transfer. 

This meeting was a great success and is set to spark meaningful discussions and collaborations across diverse topics. Together, we aim to advance vision research and create impactful solutions for the future!
