On the 16th of April, the 2nd Lifelong Vision Amsterdam seminar brought our community together in a brisk afternoon of curiosity and collaboration.
LLV members from Amsterdam UMC and the University of Amsterdam presented insightful work to fellow members and interested colleagues from across research groups and departments — starting with an overview of our progress and moving through patient profiling, AI-driven reconstructions of retinal disease progression, and probabilistic approaches to biomarker quantification.
We then dove into lab-to-model advances: iPSC-derived blood-vessel organoids probing AMD mechanisms, innovative retinal gene‑therapy design and delivery in organoids, and cutting-edge biomimetic 3D‑printed oBRB and choroid regeneration models 🧠🔬.
Thought-provoking questions and lively discussions filled the room, and the afternoon wrapped up perfectly with drinks at The Box — great science, great company, and clear momentum for the work ahead 🍷🤝.
